Kelly Carroll

Kelly Carroll, LCSW, serves as the Associate Director of Behavioral Health & Wellness at the Institute for Nonviolence Chicago. She leads a multidisciplinary team committed to staff wellness, clinical services, and trauma-informed organizational practices within the community violence intervention (CVI) ecosystem. In her role, she guides behavioral health strategy, program development, supervision, and the thoughtful integration of evidence-based clinical treatments into community-based programming. Before transitioning into CVI work, Kelly spent ten years providing evidence-based therapy to military veterans and their families, with a focus on sexual trauma, combat trauma, and reintegration challenges. Her clinical experience spans multiple evidence-based approaches for addressing the impact of trauma. Kelly is deeply committed to collaboration, cultivating trusting and durable relationships, and centering the wisdom and lived experience of those most affected by trauma. She also teaches at the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work. Kelly earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Across all of her roles, she strives to create healing-centered systems that foster resilience, dignity, and sustainable wellbeing for frontline workers and the communities they serve.
